My Project Life Plan 2016

Project Life 2016 Title Page

I found Project Life in late 2011, and was in love with the idea of being able to complete my entire scrapbook album by the end of each year.

My life was becoming so busy that I was starting to realize why so many of the people I tried introducing to scrapbooking would swiftly run the other way.

The first year I switched from Traditional Scrapbooking to Project Life Memory Keeping was full of trial and error. I found that I desired to be creative in my memory keeping but I also wanted it to be manageable.

For the last 3 years (2013, 2014 & 2015) I kept things very simple with only one real goal in mind. Complete the album by the end of the year, and move on. Life was simply too busy, and too crazy to want anything more for the experience.

Now that I am entering a new season in life with our kids settling into school during the day, I simply have more time spend with this hobby that I love so much.

{My Desire For Our Family Album}

  • I am ready to be more creative! This is at the top of my priority list this year. I want to start using different Page Protectors, add more embellishments, and do more stamping on my layouts.
  • Print photos more often. This is something I am working hard to figure out. I want to find a system that will work with me printing photos online.

{What I’m using For Project Life 2016}

  • Ultimate Guide To Capturing Everyday Photos – You can get my FREE Ultimate Guide HERE.
  • Project Life App – I’m using the App for any “inserts” or “extra layouts” I’m wanting to include in our album.
    I’m also using the Project Life App to put together my One Little Word album. I’m taking this workshop from Ali Edwards.
  • Monthly Calendar – I purchased these on Etsy HERE. You will get a digital copy and you will be able to print them out.
  • Monthly Title Cards – These are a free printable. I’m excited to use these this year.
  • 2016 Calendar Cards – These cost $2.00 for the digital copy and then you are able to print them when you need them.

{My Plan For Project Life 2016}

Here are a few photos of how my first few pages turned out. I decided to use the Seafoam kit to start our Project Life Album. This Core kit is sadly retired.

I have both the core kit and the coordinating designer paper.

Project Life 2016 Week 1

I find that it is best if I switch up the product I’m using each month. If I try and switch it up with in the month I start feeling overwhelmed. However if I keep using the same product for more than one month I start to get bored.

By switching up the product that I’m using each month I feel like I can still be creative, and it also helps my album flow from month to month.

{A Few Of My Favorite People & Their Plans}

I want to share a few of the Scrapbookers & Project Lifers that I follow that have inspired me. Each of these ladies are approaching Project Life & Scrapbooking from a different perspective and I believe if we take a few minutes to listen to what they are sharing we can find inspiration through each method.

Becky Higgins – You know I adore Becky! Everything from her desire to help people document their stories to the way she takes such beautiful photos of her family, her faith, and surroundings. For some really inspirational photos check out #BHLovesArizona.

She put together and a pretty amazing post called: “How I Documented 2015 and Why I’m Doing It Again in 2016

Becky uses the Project Life App on her phone, and prints her pages in 8×8 size to put into a 8×8 album.

Her process is amazing and her end result is awesome. Check her post out HERE.

Ali Edwards – I think that Ali Edwards is amazing. Everything from her December Daily to her One Little Word workshop inspire me! You can check out her blog post HERE Project Life 2016

What I love most about Ali is she really gives us permission to break some of the “rules” we scrapbookers have set up for ourselves.

I love that she documents so much of her story in the physical form, or scrapbooking using Project Life!

Nina – I’m very new to Nina’s Website and the post I’m sharing with you today is about her plan for 2015, I believe you could find some great tips from her post.

You can find her “How I’m Doing Project Life in 2015” over on her blog HERE

There are two things I love about Nina’s Post. First she is doing Project Life in a much smaller album than you typical see.

Second, she has some really great free printable that you might find helpful in your journey to document your life this year!
