Quick & Cute Lemon Cards

One of my favorite ways to get started creating a card is to simple CASE a card I see.

When you CASE a card it means to Cope And Share Everything. You can do this with a card you see in the catalog, or one you see on Pinterest.

What I find myself doing is CASEing a card, but adding a few extra items, or removing a layer. Then the card ends up being my own creation.

It is always a good idea if you copy the card exactly to give credit to the original post, project or person you got the idea from.

For todays card I first CASED a card from the Annual Catalog, and then I showed you how I stepped the card up to create something similar.

CASING THE CARD: Card #1

The first card was cased directly from the Annual Catalog. This card was the one of the first card I saw in the new catalog that I wanted to create.

It was hard for me to stick to the layout but I did it.

Quick & Cute Lemon Cards

Mint Macaron Cardstock:
8-½” x 11″ , Cut at 4-¼” , Score at 5-½”
Punch out end of fish for lemon leafs

Basic White Cardstock:
2″ x 4-¼” – Stamp sentiment w/ Calypso Coral Ink

Crushed Curry Cardstock:
Use Fish Builder Punch to punch out small fishes and then trim end. (Ink the edges of the lemon)

Pattern Paper: Tea Boutique:
3″ x 4-¼”

Stepping Up The Design: Card #2

Now for the my second card I stepped it up!

I used a stencil and ink to create a background which turned out awesome. I love it.

The Tasteful Texture embossing folder was perfect for the lemons. I’m sorry to say this embossing folder is retired.

The last change I made to the card design was to use a different piece of patten paper.

Punch out end of fish for lemon leafs – Use Embossing Folder

The final touch for both of these cards were the envelopes. For the first card I did a liner on the inside of the card, and for the second card I added some pattern paper to the flap.
