The end of June, and beginning of July haven’t gone as I expected they would.
At the very end of June I ended up getting sick. A little cold / flu bug that was going around. I haven’t been sick in over 5 years and it took it out of me.
Then on the 4th of July I got a stomach bug. None of this was all that serious but it really knocked me out for a good 3 weeks.
On top of those two things that were going on I started dealing with a real slump. It is the normal Summer time slump that happens to me.
I’ve been struggling a bit with the anxiety, and depression that seems to happen about midsummer.
When this happens I tend to dig into household projects, or organizational projects I have been wanting to do. I thought I would take you a long for a Summer Craft Room Clean Up!
Before & After
This is what started it all! Those two ClosetMaid Shelfs just started driving me crazy. They were always getting cluttered up.
I thought about moving them over where my paper tower is, and putting my paper tower against this wall but how I have that paper tower set up it wouldn’t fit in that space.
Instead I removed one of the units and put it in Andrew’s room, and then pushed the chair against the wall.
Once I got started I just couldn’t stop. That is what normally happens!
My Project Life Family Albums needed to be shifted around just a bit, the the kids I went through all the bottom boxes and cleared a few things out.
I was also able to sort through all the kids current school year items, and get it up off the floor.
My desk top where I worked needed to be cleaned off as well. I love the glass shelf but it just wasn’t working anymore.
Now the counter top is much cleaner and I have more room for projects.
Links & Information for all the things
I have provided links to all the items that I talked. Some of the links are affiliate links, which don’t cost you anything extra.
Please note that the shelfs that hold my 12×12 and the Container Store Multi-Purpose Bins are on Kallax Units From Ikea.
These can be hard to find at times. Keep on eye on the website as inventory is updated daily.
The question I get asked most is where to find these clear bins I use to organize my 12×12 Patten Paper.
I found these at the Container Store, they come in 4 different sizes and are very reasonable priced.
ClosetMaid Cubes are amazing, but they are NOT like the cube units from Ikea. They do NOT fit 12×12 items.
Years ago I was able to get the Mini Cube Organizers from Staples. These have been discounted and are super hard to find.
My Favorites on Amazon
Let’s face it most of the items here in my craft come from Amazon. It is quick and easy to get them which is helpful since we live in the middle of now where.
Make sure you always check prices in other places because there are some items that are cheaper other places.

Stamps & Punches Clean Up
I also did a little bit of clean up where I keep my stamps
I was so happy to find the mini cube organizer bins. These provide the perfect storage for my twine.
Last, but not least I did put together a few Craft Room Decor items. These two projects were easy to put together.
I enjoy making my own Decor. I love being able to customize the colors to my room.
The small sign I stamped using my website colors, and the hexagon piece I was able to use Bermuda Bay & Pool Party Buttons.
I hope you enjoyed seeing this clean up session. Let me know what you are doing in your craft space.
Hi Katina,
Just watched your video again and loved what you accomplished. Looks Great!! Could you please send me a link to the 12 x 12 paper storage you purchased from the container store? I am unable to find them. I am planning a move and will need to redo my craft room. The clear 12 x 12 holders would be perfect for me. I would be grateful for any help you can provide.
Thank you so much
