Today I wanted to share with you a few things happening around house.
Summer has official come to an end with the start of of school, and while we are all excited to start this next season we have had a few very long days.
We had orientations for Violet and Kayla as they are starting new schools. Violet is headed into 7th grade! Middle school.
Kayla is headed into her Freshman year of High School.
Fun Fact Kayla is 4 Generation to attend our local High School. I told her I don’t know who is more excited about her starting High School, Her or myself.
It has been so much fun getting all the kids settled into each school, and we had a time this week trying to figure out our new schedule.
Andrew’s Michael’s First Day of 5th grade:
A fun tradition that our school have where we live is the graduating class (6th Grade, 8th Grade and Seniors) get to paint a Mural around the campus of their school This was one that the class of 2018 and did.
I snapped this photo of Andrew the week before school started.
On his first day when I picked him up he looked sad. When I asked him what was wrong he said he got scared because he couldn’t find Violet, and then he remembered he doesn’t go to school with her anymore.
All three of the kids are now in different schools.
This made me a little sad, but also made me laugh.
Andrew and Violet fight like cats and dogs most days, they are like oil and water.
Moments like this warm heart and remind me that there may still be hope that one day they will get along and love each other. 🤣
Violet Victoria First Day Of 7th Grade:
Fun fact Violet is going to the middle school that I went to.
As you might know if you have been here a little bit with me, Violet is autistic and with that comes a lot of unknowns.
This entire summer I have had myself pretty worked up with how things were going to go this year with a new school, and whole new world of middle school.
Our first week has gone amazing! I couldn’t have asked for a better first week of school. She is excited, and happy with her new school.
We are hoping that this will continue to be the case as she settles in.
Kayla Faith’s First Day Of Her Freshman Year:
This photo was taken back at the end of May when we took Kayla to tour the campus. It was the first time I had been back to this school in over 2o years.
Kayla is very excited to start High School. Her first week was amazing and she found out later in the week that she made the Volleyball Team.
This will be her first year playing on a real team and we are so proud of her.
We Enjoyed This Last Summer:
This summer was amazing. The weather wasn’t too hot which I’m always thankful for since I don’t deal with the heat well.
We spent so much time together as a family which I feel like is a gift as the kids will be getting busy with other things in the next few years.
Some of the things we have done around here this summer include hanging out by our fire pit, our local little country fair, and some major household projects. (Which currently are still to finished)
As the school year get’s started and we settled into our new routine I’m looking forward to earlier mornings (who would have ever thought I would say that), quite work days, Thursday Volleyball games, and Friday Night Lights!
I hope your summer was wonderful, and I am looking forward to crafting into the Fall, and Holiday Season with you.
