Every few months, I go through what I like to call a major craft room clean-up. You know the kind — piles of paper, half-finished projects, that one stamp set that’s somehow migrated across three different bins. It all adds up when I’m bouncing in and out of projects.

Since I tend to create seasonally, these big clean-ups usually happen right around the change of seasons. As the weather shifts, so does my creative energy! Somehow, my craft room always ends up reflecting that transition (usually in the form of glorious, glittery chaos).

There’s something about clearing the space that helps me clear my mind, too. Creativity flows better when I can actually see my desk. When I know where things are instead of spending twenty minutes searching for my paper trimmer (that’s always right where I swore I left it).

These clean-ups aren’t just about organization; they’re about resetting my creative rhythm. I take time to put away what’s no longer inspiring me, pull out the products and supplies that fit the season I’m moving into. I remind myself of what I already have before buying more (that last one is always a work in progress).

By the end, I feel lighter, more focused, and ready to create again. My craft room might never stay perfect for long — but that’s okay. It’s a working space, a creative one, and a reflection of the life I’m living right now! Sprinkled, of course, with a little bit of glue and glitter.

For this round of cleaning, my main focus was getting all of my Ali Edwards bits and bobs cleaned up, organized, and put away where they actually belong. I finally tackled something that’s been sitting on my to-do list forever — labeling my acrylic organizers. I pulled out the label maker (which may or may not have had a layer of dust on it) and finally made it happen.

I’ve really been enjoying this little corner of my desk lately. Everything has stayed right where it should! Thankfully, no repeats of the great slip of the summer, when half my supplies went tumbling over the edge in one dramatic swoop.

The last two years, I have been using older Project Life Core Kits! I store these in this corner of my craft room.

I’m starting to feel like, for next year, I may move away from using the older core kits for a while. Shake things up a little.

While my computer area doesn’t have much to do with my main crafting space. Believe me, I still spend plenty of time there! Especially when I’m printing journaling cards or other pieces for my projects. So, I gave that area a quick reset, too. Nothing major, just a little sweep and tidy-up to get things feeling fresh again.

For the most part, it stays pretty well put together, but it always feels good to take a few minutes to clear the clutter and start fresh. There’s just something about a clean, organized space that makes it easier to sit down, get creative! I actually enjoy the process.

That is a look at my craft room going into the Fall. I’m sure I will be sharing some more of it during Crafttmas this year!
