August 2025 Project Life Journaling

Back at the beginning of September, I was feeling a little overwhelmed with my Project Life Family Album. I still hadn’t wrapped up the first half of the year, and both July and August were waiting for me.

The truth is—this can happen with memory-keeping projects. Life keeps moving, new memories are always being made, and sometimes it’s just not realistic to stay perfectly “caught up.”

And that’s okay. These projects are meant to bring joy, not pressure, and giving ourselves grace along the way is part of the process. My number one tip is have a system that you can follow. That you can go back to when the overwhelming feelings tack you.

As September comes to a close, I’m feeling really good about the progress I’ve made. Not only have I tied up all the loose ends from the first half of the album (you can catch that post HERE), but I also wrapped up July (which I shared about HERE). And today, I get to celebrate finishing August! It feels like the momentum is finally carrying me forward, and I’m excited to keep that rhythm going.

And if you’re finding yourself a little behind in your own projects, give yourself some grace. Progress is progress, no matter the pace, and the joy is always in the documenting—not in staying perfectly caught up.

It not about perfect, or a timeline. It is about enjoying the process of memory-keeping, and being able to document without pressure.

August was such a big shift for us—trading in Summer Vacation Mode for the buzz of early mornings, packing school lunches, and juggling after-school activities.

All that change brought so many little moments worth capturing, which means my family album pages are fuller, busier, and filled with the energy of a new season.

Looking back at August, I noticed my pages leaned more on photos and activities, with a little less journaling. That’s totally fine—sometimes the moment calls for more snapshots than words!

I’ve made a note to sprinkle in a few extra journaling spots in September, just for balance.

The best part? Your album is yours. Lean into what brings you joy, whether that’s pages full of photos, heartfelt words, or a mix of both. There’s no right or wrong way to capture your memories—so forget comparing and focus on what makes this project fun for you!

Still To Come

I’ve got two more projects coming your way this week! On Friday, I’ll be diving into my Autumn Memories & Gratitude Mini Album—right in time to channel my inner Taylor Swift energy with her new album dropping the same day (because why not multitask with memories and music?).

Then on Sunday, I’ve got a special episode of Creative Journaling just for you. Can’t wait to see you back here on Friday—bring your coffee, your glue, and your excitement!
