December Daily Stories 7 & 8

I normally don’t have anything to share on Sundays, However this month I thought I would share my December Daily Pages from Saturday and Sunday so you don’t miss out on seeing my pages.

It has been wonderful being able to keep up with this project, and even get ahead a few days.

Story 6, and Story 7 I did at the same time because I had the photos, and I knew the stories I wanted to tell.

December Daily Story #7

This is a story that I told last year, and you may have seen a spread in my December Daily 2023 Walk-Through with almost the same photo.

The thing about December Daily, or documenting stories in December is a lot of the time we are doing the same things, we have the same traditions.

There’s a reason we hold on to photographs. They’re more than just images; they’re containers of memory, emotion, and context.

But when we look back at them year after year, we often find that the stories they tell change, and so do the feelings they evoke.

A single photo can carry a multitude of stories within it. One image might capture a moment of joy today, but when you look at it tomorrow, or in a year, it might take on a different meaning—one layered with nostalgia, loss, growth, or newfound appreciation.

It’s not that we need to repeat these stories to find meaning in them. Rather, it’s that each time we revisit them, we see something new, a different emotion or perspective, shaped by the passage of time.

These photos remind us that while our lives might follow a similar pattern from year to year, the emotions we attach to them aren’t static. They evolve with us. So, as you look through your pictures, remember that each photo has its own story to tell, and its own unique set of emotions—whether it’s today, next month, or years from now.

December Daily Story #8

Story #7 features a full 6×8 photo of our Christmas tree glowing at night. While I love the subject, this page didn’t turn out quite as I hoped and isn’t my favorite so far. The main issue is the coloring of the photo, which turned out more yellow than I wanted.

This is a common problem that I face in my house which is very small, and the lighting is not great. It seems like everything features LED lights which are awful when photographing.

December Daily Stories 7 & 8

I paired this page with a design that featured a kraft-looking pattern paper. While it is not my favorite page is not awful, and it is more important for me to have the photo, and complete the page than it is for everything to be perfect.

This is a friendly reminder that DONE is better than PERFECT!
