PL Weekly // Changing It UP

Today I’m back in my Project Life Family Album, diving into the month of April with intention and momentum.

Full transparency—as you’ll see in the video—there are still a few pages that need some finishing touches, from printing photos to adding a bit of journaling. But honestly, that’s part of the process. I’ve learned over time that this project is always evolving, and it rarely feels 100% “done” in one sitting. What matters most is showing up, making progress, and continuing to tell our stories.

Over the last several weeks, I’ve started to shift the way I think about my Family Album.

I’ve found myself torn between the desire to be more creative and the need to keep things simple and doable. It’s been a bit of an internal tug-of-war—wanting to try new techniques and add more personality to my pages, while also recognizing that if the process becomes too complicated, I’m far less likely to finish the album within the timeline I’ve set for myself.

This reflection has led me to a more balanced mindset: creativity doesn’t have to mean complexity. I’m learning to embrace small, meaningful creative touches that add heart to my pages without overwhelming the process. It’s a reminder that consistency and completion matter just as much as creativity! I know that there’s space for all of it in this project.

The one thing that has helped me with this is the Creative Planner / Journaling I talked about a few weeks ago. You can check out that video HERE.

As I’ve started using that notebook to map out some of the things I’m dreaming up, I’ve felt a noticeable shif! There is a weight that has been lifted. The stress, the overwhelm, the “where do I even start?” feeling… it’s slowly started to fade.

There’s something really grounding about sitting down at the beginning of the month, sticky notes in hand, photos laid out in front of me, and just giving myself the space to sort through it all. It’s not just planning—it’s creating room to breathe. By taking that time upfront, I feel so much more free and inspired when I start putting the pages together.

It’s like giving myself permission to enjoy the process instead of rushing through it. The hardest part is the sorting, and mapping it all out. I’m now excited to dive into the creative process.

I know that it will take a few weeks or maybe months to settle into a new routine when it comes to my memory-keeping and my Project Life process. However I am already happy with the results I’m having just a few short weeks in.
